Case Study: Software Product Lines in Practice

Speaker: Pär Hammarström
Venue: Stockholm (17. April 2013)

The presentation is a case study about how a contract development company transformed into a product company with the setup of a software product line as the main enabler.

System models and modelling served as a key activity when re-architecting a huge legacy code base into a robust software product line and designing a new development organization and way of working.

The company was struggling with systems identification and definition of stakeholders, products and enabling products as this was a major change of mindset from the “consultancy logic”. Once this system level understanding was established through extensive modelling workshops it became possible to craft of a new architecture enabling a development model based on a scaled agile framework.
